KINGMAN, Ariz. -- Authorities are investigating a fatal high-speed crash that happened last week in northwest Arizona.

Mohave County Sheriff's office investigators said a Ford Escort was traveling in excess of 90 mph when it left Pierce Ferry Road between Meadview and Dolan Springs before 11 p.m. Friday.

Sheriff's office spokeswoman Trish Carter said the vehicle rolled a number of times and the driver died at the scene. She said no one else was in the vehicle. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Carter said investigators are looking at whether alcohol was a contributing factor.
