Illinois couple feared dead after Lake Havasu boating accident

KINGMAN, Ariz. -- An Illinois couple are missing and presumed dead after a Friday night boating accident on Lake Havasu.

Four people were ejected from a boat that rolled several times after a suspected mechanical malfunction.

A husband and wife, vacationing from Illinois, remained Saturday evening the subject of a diving mission to recover their bodies, said Trish Carter with the Mojave County Sheriff's Office.

Boaters rescued an unidentified male and female, who were transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center where they were treated and released.

The 36-foot boat rolled four to five times after a suspected malfunction caused it to lurch into an unintended turn about 8:10 p.m., Carter said.
