Driver dies in northwest Arizona crash

KINGMAN, Ariz. -- A driver was killed Tuesday when his pickup collided with a tractor-trailer in northwest Arizona.

Department of Public Safety officials said the accident on U.S. Highway 93 was reported at 11:53 p.m., about 27 miles south of the new Tillman-O'Callaghan Bridge over the Colorado River.

Public safety officials said the 2003 GMC was traveling south when it crossed over into the northbound lanes and collided with the 2003 Freightliner rig. The commercial truck driver was not injured. The driver of the pickup died at the scene.

Public safety officials said the name of the man who was killed is being withheld pending notification of kin.
