Sandoval endorses Heller for Senate seat

GOP Gov. Brian Sandoval on Tuesday endorsed Rep. Dean Heller's for U.S. Senate, sending a clear signal to Republicans that he's the party's pick to succeed disgraced U.S. Sen. John Ensign.

"I have a great deal of respect for Congressman Heller and think he will make a tremendous United States Senator," Sandoval said in a statement. "He has proven to be a tireless advocate for new job creation, smaller government and honest, ethical public service. It is with pride that I offer my full support and endorsement."

Heller announced earlier Tuesday that he would run for Ensign's seat.
