Man who hanged himself near high school identified

A man who hanged himself near the campus of Green Valley High School on Monday was identified by the Clark County coroner's office on Wednesday.

Shelby Allen Pinney, 21, was found hanging from a tree near the bleachers of the school soccer field about 7 a.m., police spokesman Keith Paul said.

A woman who had dropped off her child at school saw the man and called police, he said.

The man was not associated with the school, near Warm Springs Road and Arroyo Grande Boulevard, Paul said.
