Police confiscate 2 pounds of meth

CARSON CITY -- Law enforcement officers seized 2 pounds of methamphetamine in Stateline with a street value of $145,000.

Sgt. Jim Halsey told the Nevada Appeal that officers arrested 45-year-old Francisco Sandoval-Estrada of Modesto, Calif., on Thursday.

Police say Sandoval-Estrada delivered 1 pound of methamphetamine to investigators during an undercover transaction. Authorities said an additional pound was recovered from Sandoval-Estrada's vehicle.

He was booked in Douglas County Jail on charges of trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for sale. His bail was set at $105,000.

Halsey said Sandoval-Estrada also was being held by immigration officials.

It wasn't immediately clear whether he had an attorney.
