Motorcyclist dies in collision with van

A motorcyclist died Wednesday after colliding with a van near Tropicana Avenue west of U.S. Highway 95, Las Vegas police said.

The identity of the deceased motorcyclist was not released by authorities.

Lt. Jack Owen said the collision occurred about 5:30 p.m. when the motorcyclist was traveling east on Tropicana. The van was traveling south on Pearl Street. The two vehicles collided at the intersection, Owen said.

The collision is under investigation.
