Toddler dies after being run over by truck on Friday

A toddler run over by truck on West Piccadily Drive on Friday night has died.

The 19-month-old boy was standing by the passenger side of a 2004 Nissan Titan, when the 23-year-old driver pulled away from the curb. The right rear wheel of the vehicle rolled over the boy.

It was unclear how the boy, who was unsupervised, got underneath the vehicle. Alcohol did not appear to be a factor. The boy died at UMC Trauma.

It was the 63rd fatal traffic incident in Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction this year. An investigation is pending
