Sought-after designer Lynda Murray will discuss her work Nov. 5 during the First Friday series at Las Vegas Design Center at World Market Center Las Vegas.

Her presentation will begin at 10 a.m. in C-176 at the design center, 495 S. Grand Central Parkway.

The Los Angeles-based designer was tasked by filmmaker Michael Bay to create the interior of his 17,000-square-foot home in Miami Beach, Fla. Murray will discuss the home she designed Bay, director of the "Transformers" series, during her presentation "Grand Vision: What to do With a 17,000-Square-Foot House."

"The biggest challenge in Michael Bay's home was that architect Chad Oppenheim designed the house with a lot of glass, steel and stone. It has extremely high ceilings and, at first, the glass made it seem a lot larger than most homes of the same size and also gave it a cold feel," Murray said. "My challenge was to warm it up and somehow make it feel more intimate. "

Murray grew up near Los Angeles and studied art history and interior design at University of California, Los Angeles.
