Gibbons fills medical examiner post

CARSON CITY -- Nevada Gov. Jim Gibbons has named Las Vegas real estate broker and Tahoe Regional Planning Agency board member Donna Ruthe to the state Board of Medical Examiners.

Gibbons on Thursday said Ruthe will replace Suzanne "Renee" West, a Las Vegas casino executive who has said she will resign in mid-August.

Robin Reedy, the governor's chief of staff, was appointed to fill Ruthe's seat on the TRPA, a bistate panel that oversees development and environmental issues within the Tahoe Basin.

Gibbons also reappointed Van Hefner to the medical board.
