Fishing Report

■ LAKE MEAD -- Fishing has been fair to good when anglers can locate the stripers. Top-water action has been good in the Vegas Wash and Overton Arm areas. When no fish are seen on top, trolling or jigging cut anchovies will land a few stripers. Boating and shore anglers are catching fish. Catfish also are biting on cut anchovies and stink baits in coves. The Boulder Harbor launch ramp is closed for renovations.

■ LAKE MOHAVE -- Anglers reported slow to fair success for stripers at Cottonwood Cove over the past week. Finding the fish is the most difficult task, with anglers reporting fish in water 30 to 50 feet deep. Trolling with cut anchovies has been productive for striped bass. Cut anchovies and stink baits are landing catfish in and around coves. At Willow Beach, trout action continues to be good after the weekly plant every Friday morning. Hardware is good immediately following the plant, but after the fish settle to the bottom, try PowerBait. Striper action near Willow Beach has tapered off, though reports of 20-plus-pound fish are trickling in.

■ URBAN PONDS -- Fishing continues to be fair for catfish with stink baits and worms. Bluegill also are biting, with a few up to 8 inches long.

■ KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA -- Bass fishing remains good on all reservoirs. Trout fishing should pick up with cooler weather. Be prepared for mosquitoes.

■ EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR -- Fishing for planted rainbow trout and tiger trout has been good to very good off the dam and dock areas. Excellent success has been reported from boats using flies and lures near the north end of the reservoir.

■ ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR -- With unseasonably warm weather, bass and crappie still are biting, though success should begin to taper off as the weather gets cooler. Trout fishing is fair and should continue to improve.
