Man dies in Sept. 3 beating on Strip

A man beaten on the Strip early this month died on Friday in a local hospital.

Las Vegas police said the man, who was not identified, was found with head trauma on a sidewalk on Las Vegas Boulevard at Harmon Avenue about 4:30 a.m. on Sept. 3.

He was taken to University Medical Center, where he died a week later.

Homicide detectives are looking for a black man between the ages of 18 and 22. He is believed to be 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds. Witnesses told police the suspect was with four other people who fled the scene.
