Three killed in tour bus crash in Utah

A tour bus from Las Vegas carrying Japanese tourists crashed four miles north of Cedar City, Utah, Monday evening, killing three people and injuring several others.

The bus, bound for Bryce Canyon National Park, rolled over on Interstate 15 after leaving the left side of the northbound lanes, Utah Highway Patrol trooper Cameron Roden said.

Several people were ejected, and several were injured, he said. The names and ages of the people weren't available. Roden said authorities were still trying to identify them.

Fifteen people, including the bus driver, were on board. Those who were injured were taken to a hospital in nearby St. George, Utah, where they were then taken to different hospitals, Roden said.

None of the victims were taken to University Medical Center or Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, according to spokeswomen for the hospitals.

The cause of the 6:40 p.m. crash is under investigation. No other vehicles were involved in the accident, Roden said.
