Responsibility for looking into reports of senior abuse shifts

Clark County residents concerned that their senior citizen friends or neighbors are being abused can make reports to Elder Protective Services at Nevada's Aging and Disability Services Division.

On Thursday, the responsibility for investigating allegations of elder abuse was transferred from Clark County's Senior Citizens Protective Services to the state agency.

People concerned that seniors are being abused, neglected, exploited or are suffering from isolation, should call the Elder Rights Intake Unit at 486-6930 during normal business hours. After hours and on weekends, call the Crisis Call Center at 1-800-992-5757.
