Man shot several times in convenience store parking lot

Las Vegas police are investigating a shooting at a convenience store at Martin Luther King Boulevard and Bonanza Road Friday morning.

Lt. Wayne Holman said a vehicle pulled into the parking lot of the store about 5:30 a.m. When the driver got out of the vehicle, he was shot several times.

The victim was able to summon assistance from someone inside the store, who called 911, Holman said.

The man was transported to University Medical Center. Holman said the man appears to be in serious condition.

The convenience store has closed as police conduct their preliminary investigation. Suspect information was not given.
