Nevada man fishing in Utah drowns when boat capsizes

The Garfield County sheriff's office reports a Nevada man has drowned while fishing in southern Utah's Panguitch Lake.

The sheriff's office said 52-year-old Kenneth Alan Medberry of Las Vegas was killed Wednesday.

Medberry was fishing with a friend and went overboard when the line of an anchor he threw into the lake got tangled, causing the boat to capsize. Both men fell into the water.

Medberry's friend made it to shore but authorities say Medberry was overcome by the cold water. Paramedics could not revive him.

Deputies say neither man was wearing a life vest.
