Calderone powers 51s to blowout against Grizzlies

The 51s piled up nine runs over the last five innings, including two home runs from Adam Calderone in rolling past the host Fresno Grizzlies 13-7 in a Pacific Coast League game Monday night.

Leading 4-3, Las Vegas scored three runs in the fifth, getting a Chris Lubanski RBI single, a Brian Dopirak RBI double and a run-scoring single from Aaron Mathews. In the sixth, J.P. Arencibia hit a bases-loaded sacrifice fly that scored Mike McCoy and Jeremy Reed.

Calderone hit a two-run homer in the seventh for the 51s (36-43), Mathews had another RBI single in the eighth, and Calderone capped the outburst with a solo blast to open the ninth.

Fresno (48-31) scored four runs in the seventh, including a three-run shot by Jesus Guzman, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with the 51s.
