Campaign fashion advice from Berkley and Titus
Rep. Shelley Berkley takes off the fancy jewelry when she meets with veterans in Las Vegas. Rep. Dina Titus always wears skirts -- never pants and shorts. She has worn the same hairstyle for the past 50 years.
The Nevadans contributed their style tips to a piece in The Hill this morning that examines how members of Congress present themselves to constituents during election season.
"As much as politicians want their campaigns to be issues-based, most acknowledge that what they wear and how they present themselves physically plays a part in their ability to convey their message," the Hill reports.
“You have to be very sensitive to what your constituents are going through right now,” Berkley told The Hill. “In Las Vegas, we’re having a very tough time. I have no appetite to shop. I have no appetite to get all dolled up.”
