TODAY AT SANTA ANITA PARK

Post Time 12:30 p.m.
Race 1 - 1 mile, Purse $45,000, Maiden special weights, Fillies, 3-year-olds
Caitie's Secret - Big trainer switch to John Sadler; she ran OK in debut, like that Rafael Bejarano takes the call.
Nicole H - Tepid chalk in an open opener; 4-for-4 in the money without winning, that actually may be a negative.
Long Shot - Bonnie Blue Flag
Race 2 - 6 1/2 furlongs (turf), Purse $46,000, Allowance, Fillies, 3-year-olds
Elusive Galazy - Four of these exited the Tanda race; was finishing well and is taken to move forward a step.
Sweet Hanni - Could be the primary speed to catch; draws inside and the key may be not having to duel early.
Long Shot - Ghost Girl
Race 3 - 1 1/16th miles, Purse $19,000, Maiden claiming $32,000, 3-year-olds
Duke of Aspen - Logical chalk is sliding down the claiming ladder to this career low; don't see Garrett Gomez riding these kind.
Tale of the Bat - The less starts the better when you have the bottom of the barrel; still has a chance to improve.
Long Shot - Roos On the Loose
Race 4 - 7 furlongs, Purse $44,000, Maiden special weights, 3-year-olds
Apriority - David Flores on cloud 9 winning the Illinois Derby on American Lion; might be the spark he's been looking for.
Brace Yourselves - Like the turn back in distance from 2-turn routes to this elongated sprint; his best stride will come late.
Long Shot - Derrick Do
Race 5 - 6 1/2 furlongs (turf), Purse $30,000, Claiming $32,000, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up
Carnival Queen - Like the parking lot post going down the hillside turf course; Garrett Gomez will sit for one big brush.
A Sassy Fusaichi - Logical chalk off a dead game win down the hill in last; she beat easier, so the test is more class here.
Long Shot - Alpine Yodel
Race 6 - 6 furlongs, Purse $24,000, Maiden claiming $50,000, 3-year-olds
Lets Go Indian - Ran a winning race for this low class in last; if he improves one step, he could literally crush these.
The Full Lavino - Claimed by John Sadler who adds blinkers on; value will come with Christian Santiago Reyes up.
Long Shot - Paradise Found
Race 7 - 1 mile (turf), Purse $56,000, Allowance, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up
Exquisite - Knocking on the door the last two second-place finishes; cut below the chalk, but she is in good form now.
Well Monied - She is by far the most talented turf horse in the field; been away 7 months albeit returns in a soft spot.
Long Shot - Summers Peace
Race 8 - 6 1/2 furlongs, $100,000 Las Flores Handicap, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up
Mona de Momma - Dead late closer can benefit by the race shape; Joel Rosario will save ground and power home late.
Gilded Gem - I project a fast pace and potential meltdown late; Garrett Gomez as good as it gets on a dead late closer.
Long Shot - Alpha Kitten
Race 9 - 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $13,000, Claiming $12,500, 4-year-olds and up
Full On - Takes a huge class drop to face this much easier task; good form cycle in third start off a 7-month hiatus.
Smokenomore - Ran fast enough in last to usually beat this kind; tough if repeats, key will be if he regresses tonight.
Long Shot - Carbon Hoofprint
Best Bet - Mona de Momma (race 8)
Santa Anita Saturday - Picks/Winners/Mutuels, 22/8/$59.80; Long Shots, 11/0/$0; Best Bet, 1/0/$0
Santa Anita Totals - 1,107/288/$1,905.80; Long Shots, 542/86/$878.60; Best Bets, 66/22/$108.80
SIMULCAST PICK OF THE DAY - #2 Mr. Silver (7/2) in race 8 at Gulfstream Park. For scoring purposes, we'll make a hypothetical $2 win, place and show bet, $6 total. On Saturday, Win Willy ran second at Oaklawn Park paying $3.00 to place and $2.80 to show. Stats - 67/49/$376.10
