High wind from a storm system out of Northern California has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a high wind warning and a wind advisory for Las Vegas.

A wind advisory, meaning that crosswinds could make driving difficult, is in effect until 8 p.m. Monday.

A high wind warning, meaning that sustained winds of at least 40 mph or gusts up to 58 mph are expected, is in effect from 7 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday. The warning applies to parts of Clark County and Las Vegas above 3,000 feet.

High temperatures are expected to reach the mid-60s Monday, and the weather service is expecting a 40 percent chance of rain after 11 a.m. Monday.
