Henderson closes pavilion to repair wind damage

Recent winds have ripped a hole in a canopy at Henderson Pavilion, forcing concerts to be canceled as officials make repairs.

The damage is estimated at about $300,000, with repairs expected to take most of the summer.

Bud Pico, manager of cultural arts and tourism for Henderson, said the pavilion's closure means the city has had to relocate dozens of concerts and other events.

Pico said the repairs could take six to seven weeks.
