Gibbons names new member for economic commission

Gov. Jim Gibbons on Tuesday appointed Anthony Dazzio to the Nevada Commission on Economic Development.

Dazzio is a former lobbyist and senior vice president of business development and governmental affairs for Las Vegas-based Burke Construction Group.

He was an executive manager at NV Energy and is a past president of the Southern Nevada chapter of NAIOP, a commercial development trade group.

The Nevada Commission on Economic Development aims to develop a diverse economy for the state.

With the appointment of Dazzio, Gibbons also reappointed Charles Myers of Elko to another term on the commission. Myers is an Elko County commissioner
