Elvis impersonator fails to show for child support hearing; says he’s a good parent

Elvis impersonator Trent Carlini says he’s unfairly being singled out as a dead-beat dad.

But after he failed to show up before a Family Court hearing master this week to explain why he was late in child support payments, the hearing master issued a warrant for his arrest.

According to Deputy District Attorney Shannon Russell, the 47-year-old Carlini, who performs at the Las Vegas Hilton, can avoid doing the "Jailhouse Rock" if he pays the $12,516 he owes in this year’s child support.

The arrest warrant doesn’t take effect for 10 days.

Carlini insists that he’s a good and loving parent — he has four children — and is simply struggling to make ends meet as an entertainer.

"I’m not Elvis," he says. "I’m an Elvis impersonator."
