Lockdown lifted after shooting near Henderson middle school

Henderson Police say a 56-year-old man was shot this morning near Del Webb Middle School, prompting a lockdown of the school as police investigated.

The lockdown was lifted at about 11 a.m., police said.

The shooting happened at about 8:30 a.m. A man was walking with his wife on a trail when he felt a sharp pain in his neck, which he later realized was a gunshot.

The man was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
