Lowden’s Senate funds disclosed
Former Nevada GOP chairwoman Sue Lowden reported she raised $819,005.44 so far for her bid to challenge Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev.
Lowden's cash on hand as of Jan. 1 was $497,719.19. She is expected to be the first potential Reid challenger to launch a television campaign.
Lowden, Las Vegas businessman Danny Tarkanian and former Reno assemblywoman Sharron Angle are the leading challengers in the Republican primary race. Investment banker John Chachas has $1.7 million cash on hand but has low name recognition in statewide opinion polls.
Reid, a four-term incumbent and Senate majority leader, has nearly $9 million cash on hand.
