Driver dies in one-car crash on I-15

A driver died after losing control of a vehicle and crashing into the median tonight on Interstate 15 near the junction of the Las Vegas Beltway in the north valley, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.

Trooper Chelita Rojas said the crash occurred about 6:45 p.m. as the driver was headed south on I-15 approaching the beltway near the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Rojas said for unknown reasons, the driver lost control and hit the median. The vehicle flipped and the caught fire. There were no other passengers in the car, Rojas said.

She added that she didn’t know the gender of the deceased. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
