Man sentenced to prison for killing friend during intoxicated gunplay incident

A Lake Havasu City man who killed his best friend during an intoxicated gunplay incident last fall is going to the Arizona Department of Corrections.

Mohave County Superior Court Judge Steve Conn sentenced Eric Huffman, 23 to six years in prison during a Wednesday hearing.

Huffman pleaded guilty to manslaughter for the Oct. 9 shooting death of Kristopher Setser, 26. Huffman believed a handgun was not loaded when he fired at Setser while they were drinking and hanging out.

“I wanted to apologize to Kristopher’s family,” Huffman said at the sentencing hearing. “He was my best friend. This was a horrible accident.”
