Police seek information in woman’s slaying
Las Vegas police are asking the public to help identify a car that might be linked to the slaying of a 21-year-old woman last week.
The driver of the car, believed to be a white 1995 to 1998 Nissan Sentra or similar small sedan, was caught on surveillance cameras approaching the victim’s Jeep Liberty around 5 a.m. on Jan. 14.
The victim, Prisma Ivette Contreras, a service assistant employed by the Mad Onion restaurant at the Hooters Hotel, was reported missing by her mother later that day, Las Vegas police Sgt. William Scott said.
Boulder City police found Contreras’ blue 2006 Jeep Friday morning, with Contreras stabbed to death inside, in a desert area near U.S. Highway 95 and State Route 165, south of Boulder City, according to police.
Scott said they are looking for any friends of Contreras that investigators haven’t interviewed. She had worked at the Mad Onion for only two weeks, he said.
