Heck reports nearly $200,000 for Congress

Joe Heck says he's raised nearly $200,000 in the race to challenge for the Congressional seat held by Rep. Dina Titus, D-Nev. Heck is facing Rob Lauer in the primary. Democrat John Beard is challenging Titus in the Democratic primary.

Here's Heck's fundraising statement:

Today, Dr. Joe Heck’s campaign for Congress announced that it raised $190,800 dollars during the closing three months of 2009.  This was the first finance report since Dr. Heck’s October entry into the race for Congress.

Nevadans showed strong support for Dr. Heck by providing over 95% of his contributions received from individuals and over 71% of his total donations this past quarter.

“It has been an encouraging entry into this campaign. I’m honored to have the support of so many Nevadans and am pleased with the amazing response we have received,” said Dr. Heck. “As I talk with Nevadans it’s clear they are tired of the liberal policies that Dina Titus is pushing in Washington,” Heck continued.  “Dina Titus’ votes for Cap and Trade, a government takeover of healthcare, the death tax, and out-of-control government spending have Nevadans concerned and asking for an alternative, I am proud to have earned their support in this campaign,” Heck concluded.
