Missing Las Vegas woman’s body found

The body of a missing woman police began investigating as a homicide victim after her fiancee killed himself in a police standoff last week has been found, the Clark County coroner’s office confirmed today.

The coroner’s office identified the woman as Anjelica Fernandez, 21, from Las Vegas. She died from a gunshot wound to the head, a spokeswoman said.

Police said Monday they discovered the woman’s body Sunday night, but were waiting for the coroner’s office to confirm her identity.

More details, including where the body was found, were not immediately released.
