IN NEON TODAY: In the past two weeks, when I’ve been walking the Strip, I’ve heard “Don’t Stop Believin’” more than any other classic-rock song. It’s been pouring out of hotel sound systems, cover bands and karaoke hotspots.
If you want to see the guitarist behind the song, Journey’s Neal Schon takes his own band (including his guitarist son) to Green Valley Ranch tonight (8 p.m.; $24-$44).
Check out today’s Neon section, where he tells me how band mates are ready to record “12 ass-kicking tracks” that are “very rocking, very very good, great hooks” – and how “The Sopranos’” ending, has been “a door-opener for us, worldwide.”
DEAD GUY NEWS: And if you missed my front page column today -- a group of tourists who've been coming here for 20 years are trying to spread the ashes of one of their dead friends on the craps tables at Palace Station.
