Goodmans to register nonpartisan

Mayor Oscar Goodman and wife Carolyn Goodman will confirm their intention to change their voter registration from Democrat to nonpartisan at 4:30 p.m. today.

The mayor has said a change in his party affiliation will keep his options open should he decide to run for governor in 2010.

Meanwhile, Carolyn Goodman has decided to step down from her leadership position at the Meadows School, which she helped found. That decision has been interpreted by some to mean she is considering entering public office, perhaps even running for mayor. It would also free her to assist her husband with a gubernatorial run.
