Police urge robbery victim to come forward

Las Vegas police are pleading for the victim of an early-morning robbery to come forward and talk to detectives about the incident, which involved three suspects arrested in connection with a murder that happened the same night.

A witness saw a white male being chased by a hooded suspect who was firing at him at the intersection of Desert Inn Road and Buffalo Drive about 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 18.

About five minutes later, just a few blocks away, police believe the same suspect shot and killed a 19-year-old man in a similar robbery attempt.

The suspect, Brian D. Gonzalez, 20, and his suspected accomplices, 19-year-old Dennis Laneave and Antonio Tarrosa, a juvenile, have been charged with murder.

Lt. Lew Roberts said the victim in the first robbery attempt might feel he doesn’t need to call police because the suspects have already been arrested. Roberts said the man’s statements are important to the case. The homicide section can be reached at 828-3521.
