Suspect in police shooting charged with robbery

Prentice Marshall, a suspect in the slaying of Las Vegas police officer Trevor Nettleton, was booked on an unrelated charge of robbery with a deadly weapon for a Nov. 18 crime, a North Las Vegas police release stated today.

The release said Marshall robbed an 18-year-old suspect at gunpoint on Grand Prairie Avenue, near Cheyenne Avenue and Clayton Street. A number of personal items were taken, police said.

An hour later, Nettleton was shot and killed in a robbery attempt at his North Las Vegas home on Emerald Stone Avenue. Marshall and five others were arrested and charged in that case. Police accuse Marshall of firing the shots that killed Nettleton.

Police will continue to investigate the possibility that the cases may be linked, the release said. Marshall remains in custody at the North Las Vegas Detention Center.
