UFC 104: Machida retains belt

Lyoto Machida, left, won a unanimous decision over Mauricio "Shogun" Rua to retain the UFC light heavyweight title in the main event of UFC 104 in Los Angeles tonight.

Machida remained undefeated with the victory, but had previously never lost a round in his UFC career. He won 28-27 on all three scorecards.

In the co-main event, Cain Velasquez stopped Ben Rothwell 58 seconds into the second round of their heavyweight bout.
