Man found dead in Las Vegas jail

A 56-year-old male inmate at the Las Vegas City Jail was found dead in his cell at 4:30 a.m. Thursday, city officials confirmed.

Officials did not identify the man. His name will be released by the Clark County coroner's office, said a city spokesman.

The man was arrested Dec. 1 on allegations that he solicited a pedestrian on a roadway, the spokesman said.

Officials said the death was not suspicious, but a cause was not given.
