Boy struck, killed by car pulling out of driveway

A 22-month-old boy died about 9 p.m. Sunday when he was struck by a car pulling out of the driveway of a home near E. Pelham Ct. and Sacramento Drive, Las Vegas police say.

According to witnesses, the toddler followed the driver, 22-year-old Manuel Bermudez, out of the home as he went to move a 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe to the road. The boy walked into the path of the car as Bermudez backed out.

The 22-month-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

The collision is under investigation. It is unknown the boy's relationship to the drive or if charges will be sought.
