Utah Pac seeks reform — for college football

Don't ever bet against politics finding a way to get more trivial.

A new political action committee from Utah seeks not to increase access to health care, create jobs nor improve education.

The group seeks to lobby Congress to change the way college football decides its champion.

The Playoff PAC says: "To that end, Playoff PAC helps elect pro-reform political candidates, mobilizes public support, and provides a centralized source of pro-reform news, thought, and scholarship."

And, yes, they're accepting donations.

Here's what the Salt Lake Tribune reported:

"Both sides of the argument, though, are shelling out big money to Washington lobbyists. The conferences backing the BCS as well as the Football Bowl Association have spent $720,000 on lobbyists so far while the Mountain West Conference, in which the University of Utah and Brigham Young University play, has spent $200,000."
