PETS: Readers send in photos of their animals

Readers have submitted hundreds of entries to the View's pets section. And, because we only can feature a few photos each week in the newspaper, we decided to expand the sharing online. We hope you enjoy these extra faces, and remind you to check back each Tuesday for more photos of your best friends.

"Freddy is my name and sitting in my tree perch, which no other cat has, is part of my day. I used to chase birds when I was younger and tougher, but now it serves as a lookout tower for other cats that may trespass in my domain. The rest of the day is spent visiting the neighbors across the street. I am a lucky feline because I am loved so much from my owners," said Jan Sullivant of Henderson.

"This is Josie and Rudy, 9-year-old Russian blues. They love to drink from the faucet," said Jim and Kathy Twomey of Henderson.

Elsa Carman of Las Vegas submitted this photograph of her cat, Ming. "She is 16 years old.  Just saying, 'I'll get the phone. You don't have to.' "

"My name is Papillion, aka 'Pappy the Pooch!' I think I can fly like the butterfly I am named after. Mostly, I scoot after my ball and kiss my master's visitors, who really came to see me," said George A Bussell of Las Vegas.

"This is Sir Zink (the black and tan one) and Sir Zuess (the red one). Sir Zink is our year-old black-and-tan Doberman. We adoted him when he was only 3 weeks old. Sir Zuess is his adopted little brother from a different mom and dad. He is also a Doberman. They are the best Dobermans in the world. Every day is filled with laughter and joy with them in it. The love they give is worth more than all the money in the world. We feel truly blessed to have them in our life," said Therese Kozminski of Las Vegas.
