UNLV should search small college ranks for a young, dynamic coach

The Review-Journal’s Mark Anderson reports there’s quite a bit of interest being shown in the UNLV football team head coach position now
that the university has finally put Mike Sanford to sleep.

This despite all the nonsense rhetoric of Sanford and others, including former Chancellor Jim Rogers, that the program suffers from
complex problems.

If the university officials are wise (insert punch line here) they will search the top junior college and small college ranks for a young, dynamic coach who possesses great energy and a willingness to grow with the program. No more old dogs, famous or otherwise. No more
people who haven’t had head coaching responsibility. Stop and think for once and answer this question: "Realistically, what kind of
football program do we want?"

And no more excuses about how the answer to fixing a small-time program is to pay a scad of cash to a coach.  That's Leno and
Letterman stuff.
