Ex-teacher punished in child porn case

A one-time substitute teacher who admitted to police he was attracted to girls did not get the probation he was hoping for Monday after pleading guilty in August to possession of child pornography.

Instead, Aaron Ringewold will spend two to five years in a Nevada prison. That is the sentence Judge Stefany Miley handed down, closing a case that began with Ringewold's arrest in June by Henderson police.

Ringewold admitted that he was attracted to girls and child pornography, but there was no evidence any of the explicit images of children found in Ringewold's possession were his students. Ringewold was a substitute teacher at O'Callaghan Middle School.
