Government’s recovery act Web site has non-existent districts

ABC News has a story pointing out apparent errors on the Web site www.recovery.gov, which was set up to track spending and job creation for the $787 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

The story raises questions about the accuracy of job figure statistics by pointing out instances in which money and jobs are listed as going to congressional districts that don't exist.

Rep. Dave Obey, D-Wis., says in the ABC story, "The inaccuracies on recovery.gov that have come to light are outrageous and the Administration owes itself, the Congress, and every American a commitment to work night and day to correct the ludicrous mistakes."

The ABC story didn't look at Nevada, but it does appear the site has incorrect information regarding job creation in the Silver State.

In addition to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd congressional districts, it also has a 32nd, 22nd, 9th and 25th.

In addition to what's listed going to the actual districts, the site says 12 jobs and $6.3 million went to the 32nd, nine jobs and $754,400 went to the 22nd, $620,000 and zero jobs in the 9th and $15,654 and zero jobs to the 25th.
