Mob Museum lawsuit hearing scheduled Thursday
A hearing over a contested Mob Museum contracted has been moved to 11 a.m. Thursday, and the judge in the case might rescind a restraining order keeping the contract from going forward.
The initial hearing in the lawsuit between Flagship Construction and the city of Las Vegas had been set for last Friday. Lawyers for both sides met today to reschedule.
Flagship is suing over an $11.5 million remodeling contract that the Las Vegas City Council awarded to APCO Construction Co., arguing that APCO is not a qualified contractor and that an earlier set of bids in which Flagship was the low bidder was improperly thrown out.
City spokesman David Riggleman said the restraining order might be removed because work on the Las Vegas Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement is not scheduled to begin until July 24.
