The 51s rallied from a 9-2 fourth-inning deficit but couldn't quite overcome the host Reno Aces, losing 10-9 Friday night in Pacific Coast League play.
Las Vegas (41-48) got one run in the fifth, four in the sixth and two in the eighth to tie the game, but Josh Whitesell's RBI double in the bottom of the eighth provided the winning run for Reno (45-44).
The 51s' comeback began with Angel Sanchez's one-out triple in the fifth, and he scored on Buck Coats' groundout. Brett Harper's two-run homer keyed the four-run sixth inning, and Jason Lane had an RBI triple in the eighth.
Brandon Allen had a two-run homer in the Aces' three-run second inning, and Reno scored two in the third and four in the fourth. Las Vegas starter T.J. Beam gave up all nine of those runs, on 11 hits and a walk in 3 2/3 innings.
