Lake Mohave incident kills woman

A 22-year-old California woman died Saturday evening after falling off a pontoon boat and being run over by the boat's propeller at Lake Mohave.

The woman was with family and friends on the boat in Gasoline Alley when the incident occurred at 6 p.m., according to the National Park Service.

Witnesses told investigators that the Chino Hills, Calif. woman fell off the bow of the boat when everybody on board moved to the front. The bow went underwater, and the woman disappeared under the boat as it moved forward at 6 to 8 miles per hour, according to the park service.

She was found in the water after the boat passed over her. She had severe injuries from the propeller.

The incident remains under investigation.

The woman's body was turned over to the Mohave County, Ariz., coroner's office. Her name was not released.
