The gunman in a Sept. 5 apparent murder-suicide attempt at a North Las Vegas home died this morning from his injuries, North Las Vegas police said.

The 46-year-old Cibolo, Texas man was found in critical condition from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound about 4:45 p.m. Sept 5. Officers also found 38-year-old Maria Herrera dead in the home on the 4900 block of Rancho Domingo Court, near Camino Al Norte and Lone Mountain Road.

The Clark County Coroner's office ruled her death, of multiple gunshot wounds, a homicide.

Police believe Herrera was seen assaulted by the man in front of house prior to her death.

The identity of the gunman was not released by police.
