Morning fire causes extensive damage to home

The owner of a home gutted by flames early this morning in the north part of the valley said he heard a bang in the back of the home near the intersection of Gowan Road and Decatur Boulevard.

The blaze occurred around 6:37 a.m., when several neighbors reported a fire at 3609 Beeson Ct. The owner of the home, who was watering plants outside the home, said the fire may have started in the back of the one-story stucco home, Las Vegas fire department spokesman Tim Szymanski said.

Although cause is unknown, Szymanski said damage is extensive.

The owner of the home was treated for smoke inhalation but was otherwise uninjured.
