Driver accused of killing UNLV student indicted

The man accused of killing a popular UNLV student in a collision has been indicted on one count of causing a death while driving under the influence.

A Clark County grand jury indicted Vladimir Lagerev, 45, in the death of 18-year-old Lindsay Bennett on Tuesday.

Authorities said Lagerev was driving the wrong direction on April 15 when he collided with Bennett on the Las Vegas Beltway near Windmill Avenue. His blood alcohol level was 0.2 about 90 minutes after the crash. The legal limit in Nevada is 0.08.

Lagerev is scheduled to be arraigned May 27.
