AROUND TOWN: Buy a movie ticket, plant a tree
April 22, 2009 - 8:48 am
Planting a tree doesn't have to be a hot, dirty job.
Disney will plant the tree for anyone who buys a ticket to the Disneynature film "Earth," which opens April 22 in honor of Earth Day. Moviegoers have the entire week to get a tree planted for their ticket.
"Earth," is Disneynature's first series available on the big screen. James Earl Jones narrates the story of three animal families and their journey across the planet.
Brazil's Atlantic Forest, which is considered one of the most endangered rain forests in the world, will receive the donated trees. Today, only 7 percent of the Atlantic Forest remains. Disney said it is committed to ensuring the trees are planted to provide the greatest long-term benefit for the planet.
The 99-minute film is running multiple times throughout the day at theaters all over the valley. The cost is a standard movie ticket rate. Check out Fandango for movie times near your house.
