About 40 people dead, 115 injured in fire at Swiss Alpine bar during New Year’s celebration

A body of a man in his 20s was found in the street early Tuesday morning in northwest Las Vegas.

Police received an anonymous call at 5:57 a.m. of a person found face up, dead of gunshot wounds, Las Vegas police Lt. Tim Odpendyk said. The shooting is being investigated as a homicide.

The man's body was found in the 3800 block of Aspen Cove Street, near Alexander Road and the Las Vegas Beltway. Police did not release a motive.

Homicide Lt. Lew Roberts said police have not tracked down any witnesses and do not have a suspect.

Sarah Davi and her husband, the Rev. Nick Davi, were shot by their neighbor, Joe Junio, in December 2023, after a conversation during which Junio suddenly exited her vehicle and pointed a gun at them, the complaint filed Monday alleged.
